Chapter I.III: Live Arena[/color][/size]
"Sold Me" by Seether plays as a graphic fills up the screen, showing a rainy day the shadows of the King of the Ring logo lightening up with every flash of lightning. The voice comes in for the main chorus of the song, introducing King of the Ring as a joint-brand presentation from RAW is WAR and SmackDown, in association with Castrol GTX. The graphic shatters to the bottom of the screen as silver and lime green fireworks are seen in the rafters, on the metal scaffolding above the ring. The three fireworks fall down and smash into the stage, and after a series of explosions, the smoke rises into the cold atmosphere and we get to see the arena in full view. It shows a massive chair placed with a rectangular minitron placed below it, two scaffolding for pyrotechnics at either side, leading down the aisle to a ringside area in a straight line. There to its left stands the ring, clad in apron and red ropes. The whole arena is shaped like the number six. Another tron is seated above the throne-style stage, a large scaffold placed going across both arms above it. The announcers are seated at ringside, and they introduce us to the show.
[JR]- We welcome you all live to the Reunion Centre! We are live here tonight for the fifteenth annual King of the Ring tournament, pay-per-view! Howdy all here tonight in Dallas where tonight you will see ten amazing matches, right in that very ring! I'm good ol' J.R. Jim Ross alongside the phenomenal chairman of the company, Vince McMahon and what a show we have for you fans!
[Vince]- Well JR, alot of storms have been brewing on RAW is WAR, SmackDown, Saturday Night's Main Event, whatever the show is, alot of excitement has been in the air before this spectacular pay-per-view. We have Ken Kennedy and Edge hooking up in the semi-finals, whereas they will face the winners of Randy Orton and Batista's match.
[JR]- But also, Vince. When you hear Orton and Batista's names, you have to also think of the name 'Evolution'. Well tonight, while these two King of the Ring athletes semi-finalists fight, the other two members, Triple H and Ric Flair will collide for a contendership shot at the WWF Championship on July 15th at Vengeance!
[Vince]- And of course, the two main events, one is all about pride and honor as Eddie Guerrero defends his WWF Championship against Bret Hart on SmackDown's side. Whereas, on RAW is WAR, Shawn Michaels takes on Diamond Dallas Page for the World Heavyweight Championship!
[JR]- Thankyou everybody for purchasing this pay-per-view, we will not dissapoint here tonight!
Chapter II: KOTR Semi-Final: Edge vs. Ken Kennedy[/color]
There was an interesting history between both of these men as Kennedy and Edge were paired as a team this time last month before being disbanded as Kennedy walked out on Edge. Christian came in two weeks ago on Saturday Night's Main Event as Edge's partner but he quickly showed his true colors, siding with Kennedy during a World Tag Team Championship match with champions, Haas and Benjamin.
"Turn up the Trouble" hits the arena, a WWF production theme created by the producer of WWF music, Jim Johnston. And this means we are kicking things off tonight at King of the Ring with the King of the Ring Semi-Final match. The young arrogant Mr Kennedy then walked from below the gigantic thrown stage, followed by Christian, Edge's half-brother. He walks down the long aisle and steps into the ring, not reaching for the microphone here tonight. Ken Kennedy previously defeated Ken Shamrock on RAW is WAR and CM Punk at SNME to get this far in the King of the Ring tournament.
The arrival of Ken Kennedy is quickly interrupted or followed by the sound of "Metalingus" created by Alter Bridge several years ago. The Rated R Superstar jogs out slowly onto the stage clad in silver tights with a silver jacket and receives a great reaction in the Reunion Centre. He jumps up and down before slowly removing of his jacket, and raising his two index fingers into the air, getting prepared to fire pyro into the air but just as he goes to do it, Edge charges down the aisle and slides into the ring, wasting no time to get into action.
The bell sounds as Kennedy gives Edge several right and left forearms to the back of the Canadian as he tries to get on his feet. Edge gives Kennedy a shot to the stomach before getting to his feet and running Kennedy off of the ropes, leading him into a running lariat. Edge quickly gets back onto his feet and gives Kennedy a right hand before running him off the ropes again. Edge this time connects with a spinning wheel kick, hitting with perfection. Edge covers the first pinfall of the pay-per-view only to get a near fall. Edge jabs at Kennedy before attempting to run Mr Kennedy off of the ropes but he grabs onto the ropes and slides to the outside, wisely. Kennedy heads over to Christian, his back up. Christian gives Ken Kennedy some last second advice before getting hit by Edge's baseball slide. Christian gets nailed in the back with it, sending him flying into Kennedy. Edge gets off of his knee and bounces off the opposite side of the ring ropes, connecting with a suicide dive right onto both Christian and Kennedy. Edge raises his hands into the air as the crowd roar. The crowd chant Edge's name as he slams Kennedy's head into Christian's head before kicking his younger brother to the floor and slamming his opponent's head into the ring apron. Edge rolls Kennedy into the ring under the ropes and goes to roll inside also but Kennedy gives him a legdrop across the back of the head of the Rated R Superstar. Kennedy gives Edge a shot to the crown of Edge's head, sending him backwards into a sit-down position, leaning against the ring ropes.
Kennedy runs off of the ropes and hits a dropkick right into the chest of Edge, sending him onto the apron. Kennedy goes over and stomps on Edge, then applying a sleeper hold, breaking it up at four as Edge had his arms wrapped tightly around the bottom ring rope. Kennedy drops an elbow onto the shoulder of Edge before pulling him backwards more into the ring. Kennedy bounces into the air and comes down with a double kneedrop across the forehead, hooking his legs for a very close near fall. Kennedy turns Edge onto his front and gives him a seated twisting neckbreaker. Kennedy gives Edge five or six shots to the head before picking him up. Kennedy crashes him down with a rib-breaker, handling him like he was gonna connect with a last call but dropped him side first on his knee. Kennedy applies a dragon sleeper to the seated Edge but he pulls through and covers Kennedy only to get a near fall. Kennedy shoves Edge back with a gentle boot to the forehead before getting to his feet and stomping on Edge. Kennedy rakes the back upwards before taunting to the audience. Kennedy gets a 'You suck' chant before lifting Edge up with a fireman's carry, followed up with a sidewalk slam. Kennedy goes for the cover but Edge backwards rolls into a cover of his own and gets a close fall. Kennedy and Edge run off the ropes, Edge ducks Kennedy's lariat and connects with a diving shoulder tackle, knocking Kennedy down, but bringing Edge to the floor himself!
The crowd cheer Edge on as the official begins to count up through the numbers, at five, both men are seated and leant on the middle turnbuckles. At eight, Kennedy is on one knee. Kennedy reaches his feet and goes to give Edge a right hand only for Edge to spring up and trip up Kennedy by the ankles. Edge dives onto Kennedy and pounds away on him before Kennedy knees him in the lower back. Edge ends up face first heading into the top rope before Kennedy goes for a splash in the corner only for Edge to move out of the way. Edge rolls up Kennedy but only manages to get a near fall. Edge grabs Kennedy in a side headlock before flipping him over in a headlock-like cover position. The referee counts one before Kennedy barely manages to get a shoulder up. Kennedy struggles as Edge applies more pressure, Kennedy however manages to roll backwards onto his feet and knee Edge in the ribcage. Kennedy goes to run off of the ropes but Edge grabs him by the foot, immediately getting up. Edge gets a leg over Kennedy's and turns him over, getting on one knee applying the Edgecator! Kennedy struggles as the referee gets on all fours to see if Kennedy taps out. Kennedy grabs the referee by the shirt as Christian gets on the apron and gives Edge a blinding right hand. Edge releases the hold and falls to the canvas as Kennedy slowly attempts to reach his feet. Kennedy stomps away at Edge before going for what appeared to be a german suplex but Edge reverses it into a hammerlock!
Edge throws Kennedy face first into the ropes after several seconds in the hammerlock. Kennedy turns around and gets nailed with a Spear out of nowhere! Edge hooks the leg but Christian puts Kennedy's foot on the bottom rope. Edge gets up, now annoyed at his younger brother. Edge gets to his feet and slides out of the ring while Christian was on the apron. Edge grabs Christian by the foot and pulls him down, jaw first into the apron. Edge throw Christian spine first into the steel steps before climbing up them and getting up onto the top rope. Edge nails a missile dropkick on Kennedy and covers but only manages to get a two count. Edge grabs Kennedy and plants him with the Edgecutioner, about to go for the cover before noticing Christian is on the apron. Edge spears him off of the apron into the barricade before Kennedy grabs him from behind and gets him on his shoulders ready for the Green Bay Plunge. But luckily, Edge manages to slide out behind him, he spins Kennedy around and nails him with the Spear! Edge hooks the leg, 1...2...3! Edge advances!
As the referee announces Edge as the winner, the referee raises his hand into the air. Edge is on one knee, looking down on Kennedy. Christian then creeps up slowly behind Edge with a steel chair, going to nail Edge but at the last second, he moved and Christian nailed the official in the side of the face! Edge plants the Edgecutioner on Christian as well before leaving.
Here is your winner, Edge!
III: Randy Orton and Triple H promo[/color][/size]
We head to the backstage area where Triple H, dressed to compete in his trunks, kneepads and Evolution shirt is seen walking down the hallway with two cups of coffee. Triple H opens the door with a tad bit of difficulty, getting inside and kicking the door shut behind him. He places a table nearby Randy Orton, who up next is scheduled to face a man he teamed with once before. Orton laces his boots as Triple H takes a sip of the caffeine-filled beverage.
[HHH]- Here, Randy. That sure will keep you on your A-game tonight. Speaking of A-games, guess what I am gonna do with that old hasbeen, Ric Flair tonight?
[Orton]- Hunter, I'm confident it involves something very degrading and insulting to his part, but right now I gotta train for my match.
[HHH]- Um, dude. You've known about this match since mid May and you're only just training?
[Orton]- No, man. I'm just thinking of strategy, I want to make tonight about our team, the better side, the purer side of Evolution.
[HHH]- But, Randy; If you need any help, I'll be right behind the curtain watching on the monitors.
[Orton]- Actually, man, I want tonight to be about Evolution beating the old fakers, Batista and Ric Flair with ease, and without assistance. Just get ready for your match.
Orton finishes lacing up his black boots and leaves via the door as Triple H is left with two cups of coffee. He looks at both and drinks them both, spitting out Orton's.
[HHH]- d**n, non-caffeine. Uhhh!
IV: KOTR Semi-Final: Randy Orton vs. Batista[/size][/color]
This is another important match, and could possibly end the feud altogether. The winner of this match will face the 'Rated R' Superstar', Edge in the King of the Ring finals later on in the night. This all started back in late 2004, back when Randy Orton and Batista were working as a unit, and even won the World Tag Team Championships from La Resistance at WrestleMania XXI. But that turned sour as in October 2005, Randy Orton dumped Batista, leaving him high and dry during a WWF Tag Team Championship match, setting off his first major heel run. Orton went on to win the WWF Heavyweight Championship. Flash forward to the Fall of 2007, Randy Orton now a fan favourite once again began teaming with Batista, eventually defeating him to retain his WWF Championship in a friendly bout. But eventually, Orton turned on the fans and went on to drop the WWF Championship to Eddie Guerrero at WrestleMania 24. The Thursday night following WrestleMania and coming off of a draft extension once again, it seemed that Evolution was now back together, but it was different this time however as Ric Flair [who previously had a grudge with Triple H during October] and Batista could not forgive Triple H and Randy Orton for their actions. This culminated into a 4-way dance match at Judgment Day with Triple H consequently winning. There was scheduled to be a rematch however Orton and later Batista qualified for the King of the Ring tournament, splitting this rivalry in two.
"Walk Alone" by Saliva sounded loudly into the arena as the 'Animal' ran out slowly to the capacity crowd. He raised both of his fisted hands into the air and waved at the audience before slapping his hand on his knee, spreading his legs out, tapping the floor with his hand and angrily pulling at the air going upwards, sounding pyro off behind him. He finishes off the pyro display by punching the air as the announcer began to call out the information on Batista. He ran up the steel steps and climbed into the ring, climbing up to the top rope and showing off his inhumane physique. Batista defeated Triple H on SmackDown & John Bradshaw Layfield at Saturday Night's Main Event to reach this point in the tournament.
"Voices" by Rev Theory then hit the arena as the 'Icon Killer', Randy Orton made his entrance, standing out before the arena, raising both arms into the air as golden fireworks fell from the chair-like stage above. He imitated Batista, showing off his 'bulging biceps' before walking down the aisle, waving his hands upwards, setting pyro off as her passed on by. Orton slowly climbs up the steel steps and raises both arms into the air to the audience before getting onto the apron and climbing into the ring under the top rope. Randy Orton waits in the corner as Batista waits in the corresponding corner. Orton climbs the ropes to taunt the crowd again. Orton defeated Ric Flair on SmackDown and British Bulldog at Saturday Night's Main Event to get here.
The bell sounded as both men met in the centre of the ring, staring each other down. Batista and Orton talk trash amongst themselves, eventually leading to a vicious slap across the face from the arrogant Randy Orton. Batista smiled as he looked at the canvas and speared Orton to the cavas giving him several lefts and rights. Orton was fortunate however as the official seperated Batista away from Orton, breaking it up before the five count. Batista walks to the turnbuckle far behind him and shows off his muscular physique once again before jumping down. Orton was hit with a knee to the abdomen before Batista shoves him backwards into the ropes, connecting with a successful sidewalk slam. The Animal hooks the leg but only manages to get a two count. Batista gives Orton yet another right hand, followed by a hard slap to Orton! Randy wakes up and holds his cheek in his hand, getting on all fours as Batista stomped on Orton once. Batista runs Orton off the ropes and connects with a perfect powerslam. The Animal hooks the leg but somehow only manages to get a near fall. Batista picks Orton up onto his feet, only grabbing Orton by the shoulders! Batista kicks Orton in the gut and gives Orton three or four shots to the chest and upper body before running Orton off the ropes, only for Randy to land on his feet from a tilt-a-whirl slam and hit a kick directed backwards, giving Batista a lethal low blow. Batista doubles over onto his knees, holding the possibly damaged privates. Orton kicks Batista in the chest, knocking him on his back.
Orton raises his arms into the air and stretches them out, like an eagle. Randy walks over and stands over the harmed Animal, eventually dropping his knee over Batista's forehead. Orton repeats the kneedrop a second time before applying a head lock on Batista, lying him down and aplying more pressure, of course having the official check that it isn't a choke hold. The referee is shoved away by Orton's strong hand as Batista gets on his knees and slides backwards out of Orton's headlock and applies a hammerlock, lifting Orton up with only one hand. dropping him on the back of his head. Batista's name is chanting in the crowd as he tries to hold himself up using the middle rope only to have the evil Orton hit Batista in the back of the leg with a chop block. Orton grabs Batista's leg and stomps away at the knee, jumping off of the second rope onto the knee with several forearms and knee drops, trying to decapitate it. Orton drops an elbow on the knee before trying to bend it sideways. Batista uses his other leg to kick Orton in the spine, sending Orton to the canvas. Batista uses the turnbuckle to help himself to the feet as Orton gets up and tries to run at him. Orton goes for a double axe handle but Batista elbows him in the head, then connecting with a sidewalk slam. Batista roars to the crowd, getting worked up. Batista knocks Orton's head off with a clothesline, sending him right on his head. Batista grabs on Orton and lifts him up for the Batista Bomb but Orton gets out of it and rolls Batista up for a very near fall.
Orton's attempt fails as Batista nails Orton with a headbutt. Batista then catches Orton as he goes for a lariat and turns it into a spinebuster! He covers only to get a close call. Batista begins to get annoyed as he slams his fist into the canvas and gets to his feet. Batista kicks Orton in the back of the head, sending him out to the apron before stomping on him there. Batista gives Orton several shots to the head before sending him flying off of the apron onto the announce table with a lariat. Orton smashes his side into the side of the table as Batista jumps down from the apron and ruthlessly punches Orton to the floor. The referee tries to restrain the Animal but he gets shoved on his ass for his troubles. Batista grabs a chair from commentator Jim Ross and nails Orton with the steel chair right into the skull! A blatant disqualification for Randy Orton!
Officials come down to stop the brutal punishment laid down by Batista, only to get shoved out of the way one by one. Batista rolls the now extremely bloody Orton into the ring and pulls the announce table nearer to the apron yet not extremely close. Batista rolls into the ring and Orton tries for the RKO out of nowhere but Batista throws Orton away. Batista kicks Orton in the gut and picks him up, delivering an amazing Batista Bomb right through the announce table on the outside! Batista leaves as officials gather around the winner of the bout.
Here is your winner, as a result of a disqualification, Randy Orton
V: "A Word from Our Sponsor..."[/size][/color]
The official theme for King of the Ring 2008, "Sold Me" by Seether plays from the chorus, taking us to an exterior shot of the Reunion Centre, live from Dallas, Texas. A hot Summers day in Texas, as the sky is still blue despite it being half past seven.
[JR]- And there's a beautiful shot of the Reunion Centre. We are live from Dallas, Texas for the fifteenth annual King of the Ring.
[Vince]- Tonight, WWF King of the Ring is sponsored by Castrol GTX and your personal favourite, JR.
[JR]- You just gotta feel the fruity, patooty, looney, sugary, Skittles! Taste the rainbow!
[Vince]- But there sure isn't any here in Texas.
[JR]- Nuh, uh.
VI: Eddie Guerrero Interview[/size][/color]
We head to the backstage area where World Wrestling Federation interviewer, Dok Hendrix is standing by outside of the locker room of WWF Heavyweight Champion, Eddie Guerrero.
[Vince]- And now, apparently, our interview, Dok Hendrix is standing by outside of Eddie Guerrero's locker room trying to catch a word with the WWF Champion before he does battle with his toughest challenge to date, against Bret "Hitman" Hart.
[JR]- Dok, take it away!
[Hendrix]- Well, JR, Vince. Tonight has been pretty special so far, what with the first two matches of the night helping us find out who exactly will become the 2008 King of the Ring Winner. But unlike previous years where the winner has received a WWF or World Heavyweight Championship shot, the winner can now choose when he can do it, similar to CM Punk's Money in the Bank briefcase back at WrestleMania. But back on topic here tonight. In SmackDown's main event, the WWF Heavyweight Champion, Eddie Guerrero must challenge Bret "Hitman" Hart in his toughest challenge to date. In all known matches between these two in singles action, Hart has won most, his latest being back at Saturday Night's Main Event in mid March. So there is pressure on 'Latino Heat' tonight.
Dok Hendrix talks to the camera before being confronted by Eddie Guerrero from behind. Guerrero looks different as he does not have the lovable smile usually worn on his face.
[Hendrix]- Well, Eddie, tonight it is time to quit the talking and leave out all of the comedy and embarrassment. Eddie Guerrero. What you've done in the past to Bret Hart, you've embarrassed him, you've stolen his signature sharpshooter against him and taken joy in embarrassing Hart in a triple team with the Legion of Doom on last Thursday's SmackDown. But Eddie, do you think that Hart will take all of his frustration out on you?
[Eddie]- Well, Dok. I've had an eventful reign as the WWF Heavyweight Champion, and have lead a meaningful career in the World Wrestling Federation. From la familia to lucha-libre in Mexico. To Extreme Championship Wrestling to World Championship Wrestling and over to the World Wrestling Federation. The first time that this papi has won the WWF Heavyweight Championship, he beat Stone Cold Steve Austin in a tournament final and refused to let it out of his grasp up until when he was screwed by his best friend, Chris Benoit. This 'he' I refer to is also known as the guy who lies, cheats and steals. The guy who makes people laugh and always brings joy to the fans all over the globe. But I've come out on the losing end, when on a house show, Sunday night, I damaged by collarbone pretty badly. And I'm concerned about it, so tonight my strategy is to simply go into that ring, ese. To wrestle non-lifting moves holmes. And to try and finish things quickly without upsetting the fans.
[Hendrix]- Well, our WWF Champion isn't one hundred percent. Will this have any effect on the main event tonight? We'll have to simply wait and see, take it away, JR and Vince.
VII: King of the Duos Battle Royal: The Nation vs. Samoans vs. Basham Bros vs. La Resistance vs. AJ and Mysterio vs. Assassins vs. London and Kendrick vs. LOD vs. Malenko and Kash[/size][/color]
This match hardly has a real backstory though it is a way to fit every team into a match. On Raw's side of things, this match featured a continuation in the rivalry between the Samoans [led by Rosey featuring Rikishi, Yokohama and Umaga] and the Nation [led by Booker T featuring Elijah Burke, Mark Henry and Lashley]. The bout also featured some random floaters like the Hardy Boyz. On SmackDown, this was a test to see if the Tag Team Champions could withhold their strength against all comers, especially after defeating London and Kendrick to win the titles two weeks ago, and barely pass the returning Legion of Doom on Saturday Night's Main Event three days ago. Representing RAW is WAR in teams are; The Samoans I [Rosey and Umaga], The Nation I [Booker T and Elijah Burke], The Samoans II [Yokohama and Rikishi], The Nation II [Lashley and Mark Henry] and the Basham Brothers [Danny and Doug]. Representing SmackDown; La Resistance [Rene Dupree and Sylvain Grenier], AJ Styles and Rey Mysterio, Dean Malenko and Kid Kash, The Mexican Assassins [Psicosis and Super Crazy], Paul London and Brian Kendrick & Legion of Doom [Hawk and Animal].
The words 'Nation of Domination' are heard before the 'Big Payback' by James Brown plays into the arena as down the aisle comes Booker T, Elijah Burke, Lashley and Mark Henry, only Booker and Elijah dancing towards the ring. They get into the ring as immediately after, the Samoans' theme hits the arena and Rosey leads Yokohama, Rikishi and Umaga down the aisle.
Following this, the theme of the Mexican Assassins hit the arena as Psicosis and Super Crazy c***ily walked down the aisle and slid into the ring simultaneously. Following them are the new team on the block, Dean Malenko and Kid Kash, two veterans once in Extreme Championship Wrestling. They are almost immediately followed by Paul London and Brian Kendrick, who both charge into the ring and perform backflips from the top ropes. "I Am" is heard throughout the arena as AJ Styles and former Cruiserweight Champion, Rey Mysterio walk down the aisle, two former enemies turned teammates following their classic at WrestleMania 24. The theme of La Resistance then hit the arena as the French-Canadian WWF Tag Team Champions walk out to the arena holding onto their Quebec flags getting the heat they've been getting since day one. After they enter, the Legion of Doom brighten up the crowd as Hawk and Animal remove their shouldergear and charge towards the ring.
The bell sounds as all hell breaks loose. Mysterio is brawling with Booker T in a corner as AJ Styles takes down Danny Basham down with two flying forearms. Meanwhile, the Mexican Assassins are going crazy, trading blows with Malenko and Kash, both teams rivals of each other as of late on Thursday Night SmackDown. Brian Kendrick take out Doug Basham trying a standing moonsault but is caught and slammed with a running powerslam. London meanwhile dives at Mark Henry in an attempt to knock the big man down only to be thrown like a hot potato into Lashley's spear. Rosey trades blows with Sylvain Grenier, obviously showing that it's every team for themself in this outrageous battle royal. Rene Dupree nails a death valley driver, dropping Rey Mysterio on his head before getting clothesine from Road Warrior Animal. Hawk slings Sylvain Grenier over the top rope however the Frenchman holds onto the top rope and sticks on the apron, only to get nailed with a dropsault by London, eliminating Sylvain and hitting a moonsault on Rene.
Sylvain Grenier has been eliminated
The battle continues as Yokohama trades heavy blows with Mark Henry and the Basham Brothers take London and Kendrick down with two simultaneous suplexes. Danny and Doug taunt and celebrate for a moment before getting taken out with a spinning wheel kick to both men. AJ gets on one knee and raises his arms into the air, just to get ran over by Mark Henry's shoulder block. Super Crazy trades reversals of suplexes in the corner, Kash ending up landing on his feet from one, applying the hammerlock just to get dropkicked in the back by Psicosis. Dean Malenko gives Crazy a blow to the back before running him off the ropes, catching him with a devestating tilt-a-whirl backbreaker. Psicosis meanwhile lifts Kash's legs up, but his firm hands keep him steady to make sure he doesn't fall. Kash pulls Psicosis in, eliminating him with an impressive headsissors. Kash remains on the apron but Psicosis pulls his foot off the apron and collides jaw-first into the ring apron.
Psicosis has been eliminated
Kid Kash has been eliminated
Dean Malenko trades blows in the centre of the ring with Doug, hitting a short-circuit lariat, followed up with an arm drag into an arm lock, reversing Danny Basham's attempt at a throwback and slamming him in front of his partner. Malenko hits a leg drop on Doug as he nails an elbow drop on Danny at the same time, before Elijah Burke hits him with a right hand in the back of the cranium. Burke gives Malenko an explosive uppercut, sending Malenko to the floor before jumping Umaga from behind. Elijah, with his feet off the floor and his arms wrapped around Umaga is stuck as the Samoan Bulldozer feels no effect whatsoever from the headlock. Umaga walks over near the ropes and gives him a snapmare, throwing him over the top rope and onto the floor.
Elijah Burke has been eliminated
Lashley gives Umaga a forearm into the lower back, before using his incredible strength to lift Umaga up and connect with a backbreaker. The fans boo Lashley as Booker T joins in on the beatdown and joins Lashley in a two-on-one assault, hitting Umaga with stomps around the chest and shoulder area. Rosey on the other side of the ring, sees this and scoop slams Super Crazy with ease, nailing a double clothesline on Paul London and Danny Basham before throwing Booker T back and engaging in a solid fist fight with Lashley. Lashley stomps him in the gut and goes to connect with a clothesline, but all Rosey does is lightly fall backwards into the ropes, running back with a clothesline of his own, but Lashley feels no effect! Lashley shoves Rosey into the corner and spears him in the gut, before being nailed with the Samoan Spike right in the spine, slightly below the shoulder blade. On the other side of the ring however, it wasn't good for the Basham Brothers as a team as Dean Malenko gave Doug Basham a big back body drop, landing him on the outside.
Doug Basham has been eliminated
Booker T grabs Dean Malenko and gives him several shots to the head, running him off the ropes before getting caught by the mammoths, Mark Henry and Lashley who proceed in slamming Malenko down with a double flapjack. London gets knocked out with a mule kick from Booker, before Kendrick connects with a Tornado DDT out of nowhere. Kendrick tries to knock Lashley down but the monster doesn't feel a thing. Lashley continues in connecting with a body slam into a sidewalk slam before Animal gives Lashley a shoulder block. Hawk goes after Henry who then trade blows, Mark winning with his big bear claws. Mark applies a sleeper-like move with his arm squeezing the right shoulder of Hawk but it gets broken up by partner, Animal. Animal grabs Hawk's hand and the two connect with a double clothesline with Super Crazy underneath, tripping Mark into the ropes and throwing him over with a backflip landing on his knees!
Mark Henry has been eliminated
Yokohama and Rosey come back into the fray as Rosey hits a sidewalk slam on Booker T, Yokohama bouncing his intensely large gut into Lashley, sending him flying into the turnbuckle. Yokohama runs at Lashley but misses, Lashley then attempts to lift Yokohama up by the foot but Rikishi makes his first move of the match with a left hand to Lashley. The phat man enters the ring and hits a powerslam on Lashley before getting attacked from behind by Danny Basham. He attempts to dropkick Rikishi but to no avail. Rene Dupree gets back to his feet and tries to hit a powerslam to the outside on Dean Malenko but Malenko manages to stay put. London and Kendrick attack Rene from behind, Kendrick taking him into the lower corner. Malenko and London embrace with a shaking of the hands but immediately after, Malenko grabs London by his hair and throws him over the top in fast timing.
Paul London has been eliminated
The crowd boo Malenko as he walks into a single leg lariat from Kendrick, right in the chest. Kendrick's kick sends Malenko through the ropes but luckily he didn't go over the top rope, so he was safe. AJ Styles and Rey Mysterio get back into the equation, AJ hitting a reverse facebuster on Rosey but is overpowered. Mysterio runs out in front, springboards off the ropes into a moonsault, only to be caught by Rosey, who proceeds in slamming him down into the canvas. AJ hits a legdrop on the back of Rosey's head before Yokohama hits an easy scoop slam on Rey. Rikishi gives Rene Dupree one or two shots to the back of the head, before hitting a jackknife powerbomb on the surviving member from La Resistance. Super Crazy of Mexican Assassins runs at Umaga but is caught and knocked out with the Samoan Spike to the face! Umaga picks dead-weight, Crazy up and easily dumps him over the top rope.
Super Crazy has been eliminated
Danny Basham runs at Umaga and gives him several shots to the head before hitting a dropkick, shifting him slightly. Brian Kendrick uses Rene Dupree [on all fours] as a step and hits a poetry in motion like move with a dropkick at Umaga, successfully knocking him down. Hawk meanwhile, trades blows with the leader of the Nation of Domination, Booker T in the corner. Hawk hits a massive haymaker on Booker, stunning him before Hawk tries to eliminate Booker, lifting both feet up just to have Lashley attack him from behind. Luckily, Animal comes to the rescue as he hits three clotheslines to send Lashley to the apron. Hawk and Animal hit another double clothesline and Lashley falls to the floor.
Lashley has been eliminated
Rikishi and Yokohama blind sight the Legion of Doom, Hawk and Animal from behind, Rikishi nailing Hawk with a samoan drop and Yokohama connecting with a somewhat impressive scoop slam, shaking the ring a little. Umaga catches Danny Basham trying to hit him with a double axe handle from behind and elbows him in the gut, before running off the ropes and seeing the polish hammer, a move we see rarely nowadays in the World Wrestling Federation. Basham seems down and out as Rey Mysterio hits a missile dropkick on Rene Dupree from the top rope as Dean Malenko is given an arm drag to the canvas by "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles. AJ impressively springs back onto his feet and hits a dropsault [the dropkick to Dupree and the moonsault to Malenko]. AJ and Rey hit a double dropkick, stunning Rikishi, putting him right against the ring ropes. AJ and Rey try to lift one leg as Booker takes the other leg, Hawk and Animal kneel underneath Rikishi's back while the others have his legs in the air. Rene Dupree gets between Rikishi's legs in a powerbomb fashion before Hawk and Animal stand up and at the same time dump Rikishi over the top rope!
Rikishi has been eliminated
Booker T hits an acrobatic spinning heel kick into the face of AJ Styles as the last remaining member of the Nation takes Umaga down with a clothesline. Booker pounds on the Samoan Bulldozer with lefts and rights as Yokohama knees him in the skull. Rosey applies a seated headlock on Booker T before Yokohama breaks it up with a stomp to Booker's face. Meanwhile, AJ and Rene Dupree trade blows, rolling around against the ropes trying to tip each other backwards and out of the ring only to get turned around in the opposite direction. Rey Mysterio joins in on the action in trying to eliminate Rene Dupree, getting him with his hands on the apron and his head over the top rope with Mysterio and AJ trying to push him out. But that's when Hawk and Animal shove all three of the men out of the ring!
Rene Dupree has been eliminated
Rey Mysterio has been eliminated
AJ Styles has been eliminated
Danny Basham joins the Samoans in an awkward beatdown of the Nation's leader, Booker T. But that doesn't last for long as the stomping festival ends with Hawk twisting Umaga around and connecting with a heavy uppercut. Umaga bounces into the ropes where Hawk runs him off of the ropes, colliding with partner, Animal in the centre of the ring. Yokohama nails Animal in the back with his forearms and knocks him to the canvas, setting up for the Banzai Drop only for Hawk to give him several shots to the head. Hawk hits a dropkick, something we see rarely from him. Animal gets on all fours behind Yokohama before Hawk nails Yokohama with a lariat, tripping him up and onto the canvas. Hawk catches Rosey with a drop toe hold before the Legion of Doom both grab Umaga by the hair and throw him over the top rope! Hawk and Animal follow up as they spot Booker T fast approaching. But Hawk connects with a big back body drop sending Booker to the floor below! Meanwhile, Kendrick eliminates Danny Basham with a headsissors but Danny pulls Kendrick down to the floor as Basham laughs.
Umaga has been eliminated
Booker T has been eliminated
Danny Basham has been eliminated
Brian Kendrick has been eliminated
And then we were down to only two teams. The Legion of Doom were in one corner, Hawk and Animal. In the opposite corner stood two members of the Samoans, Rosey and Yokohama. Hawk and Animal walk to the centre of the ring where they are greeted several moments later by the two Samoans. The four fan favourites trade insults before Rosey makes the first blow, giving Hawk several shots. Hawk returns with several shots of his own ending up with a fist fight. Animal knees Yokohama in the gut but gets it bounced off. Yokohama slaps Animal with an open handed slap across the chest before running him off the ropes, coming back with a shoulder blows, mildly stunning the former sumo wrestler, Yokohama. Hawk hits a scoop slam on Rosey before teaming with Animal, trying to knock down Yokohama with countless blows to the head. Eventually, a double shoulder tackle knocks Yokohama into the ropes but accidentally backward rolls out to the apron, with his arms wrapped in the top and middle ropes tied up. Hawk and Animal take several shots at him before the Legion of Doom untangle him and Yokohama's gone! Rosey tries to attack Hawk with a double axe handle but Animal gives him several shots to the temple. Hawk hits him with a lariat slamming Rosey on the back of his head before Animal connects with a sliding dropkick but ends up sliding between Rosey's legs. Animal trips him forward by grabbing the legs into Hawk's powerslam, knocking him to the outside!
The theme of the Legion of Doom hits as Hawk and Animal relax, Hawk dropping down to a knee as Animal falls flat on his face. The referee from SmackDown raise the Legion of Doom's hand as the announcers introduces Legion of Doom as the number one contenders to the WWF Tag Team Championships. Meanwhile, on the outside of the ring, Rosey gets up and kicks his sneaker on the ring steps and slamming his hand into the barricade several times on the way up the ramp and backstage. Hawk rolls out of the ring as he helps Animal to his feet, the two raise their arms in the air as they walk out of the arena.

IX: Six-Woman Tag Team Match: Lita, Mickie James and Trish Stratus vs. Devil's Angels[/color][/size]
This whole thing started back in late December when Candice Michelle arrived in the World Wrestling Federation immediately setting her eyes on the WWF Women's Championship, where in her debut, Michelle and James won the Womens title simultaneously in a battle royal. The title was vacated and Candice soon introduced her protege, Christy Hemme. During their feud, it was Candice who hit a dangerous piledriver on Mickie onto a ladder, almost breaking James' neck. But at Royal Rumble, Mickie regained the title in a ladder match beating Candice. But following Royal Rumble, Lita turned on Mickie and joined the Devil's Angels. Mickie feuded with Lita before defeating her in a two out of three falls match at No Way Out. Then going into WrestleMania 24, on the final SmackDown before the grandaddy of them all, Mickie James debuted her friend, former street fighter, Victoria. Victoria seemed very aggressive and eventually turned Mickie down and won the Women's Championship during the match at WrestleMania, also featuring Lita and Candice. Victoria turned heel as Lita was kicked out. Victoria proved to be a true vicious monster as she was undefeated after beating Lita at Judgment Day. But on the SmackDown before King of the Ring in a two on one match with Lita and Trish Stratus taking on Victoria, it was Lita who scored the cover, giving Victoria her first loss. The result was thanks to Mickie James' return after WrestleMania 24, Victoria continued to avoid Mickie up until tonight.
The theme of Mickie James, "Obsession" played into the arena as Mickie James ran out to the arena. She raised both hands into the air in open handed form. She yelled that she was going to beat somebody's ass tonight before high fiving various fans in the front row on the way down the aisle. Mickie jogged up the ring steps and got ready for the match in the ring. "Lovefurypassion" by the Boys Hit Car hit the arena as the tomboy of the World Wrestling Federation divas, Lita jumps out to the arena as well, pointing her index finger up into the upper tier on the opposite side of the arena, before running down the aisle and sliding into the ring. Trish Stratus' theme hits the arena as she comes out and raises his hand into the air. She then power walks down the ramp and climbs the ring steps, joining her amigos in the back corner of the ring.
The theme of the Devil's Angels hit the ring as Christy Hemme arrived underneath the massive throne stage. She seductively walked and licked her fingers, placing them on a guy's cheek as she walked down the aisle. She climbed the ring steps and jumped up, landing over the ring apron with the splits. She backwards rolled onto her feet, giving us a shot of her 'lower back'. Following Hemme was her trainer, Candice Michelle. She runs her hands around her body before quickly walking down the aisle. She climbs the steps and grabs the ropes, backflipping onto her feet into the ring. And lastly, the WWF Women's Champion, Victoria appears, not looking feminine in any way. She walks down the aisle and climbs into the ring, keeping behind Hemme and Candice.
The bell sounds as Candice Michelle and Victoria head out to the apron in one corner, Christy Hemme starting off with Lita. The two prepare to lock up before Christy move her right hand and slaps Lita across the face! Christy laughs and double high fives her partners, Candice and Victoria before turning around to get slapped in her own face. Christy twists and falls on all fours, Lita stomping on her back relentlessly. Lita drags Christy back into the centre but gets a hard right hand from the Women's Champion, Victoria. Christy gets back to her feet and kicks Lita in the slim gut. Hemme runs and hits a variation of the bulldog, slamming her head into the canvas when she was already on the canvas. Lita turns onto her back as Christy drags Lita more into the centre, dropping an elbow on the tomboy. Christy kicks on Lita before picking her up and connecting with a successful backbreaker. Christy covers only to get a near fall. Hemme tags in Candice Michelle, who positions herself on the top rope. Hemme pulls Lita's lifeless body more closer to the Devil's Angels' corner, where Candice hits a successful diving legdrop. Candice hooks the leg as Hemme heads to the apron. Candice applies a sleeper, before after a little while growing weary of the move, spicing things up by adding a grapevine around Lita's waist. Lita refused to quit however as she nearly wore out but awoken from the sleeper at two, elbowing Candice in the shoulder until she lost grip. Lita slowly got on all fours before getting on one knee, and finally on her feet. But then Candice nailed her with a dropkick to the spine, shoving her throat first into the bottom rope. Candice stomps on Lita's spine before placing pressure on Lita's neck against the bottom rope, standing on the shoulders of the redhead.
Candice releases the hold before she got disqualified, stomping on her anyway, Candice picks Lita up and drags her across the ring with a handful of her hair, tagging in the woman only beaten once, the one responsible for the downfall of Lita during this match, Victoria. Victoria steps through the ropes and gives Lita a back forearm, almost like a chop, to the chest between the breasts of Lita. Victoria punches Lita in the gut before connecting with a snapmare but Lita won't flip over, making it into a submission. Victoria releases of the hold and shoves Lita backwards, into the ropes before ducking Lita's extended arm, grabbing Lita from behind, and connecting with a sit-down neckbreaker. Victoria rolls backwards on top of the dazed Lita, giving her several shots to the face, followed up with an arm bar, trying to hyperextend the arm of Lita. On several accounts, Lita attempted to get up and reverse the hold but to no avail. Luckily, it happened at last as Lita rolled Victoria up for a very close fall. Victoria releases the arm as Lita runs off the ropes and hits a dropkick to the upper body of the Women's Champion. Lita gets up again and catches Victoria with an arm drag before springing up and connecting with another, applying an armlock with it. But Victoria's strength pulls her over into a headlock but luckily, Lita rolled backwards and hit an impressive backdrop! Lita falls on her front but gets the tag to Trish!
Trish goes crazy in there, screaming before anything else, running at Victoria with a Lou Thesz press complete with four right hands before stalling for Victoria to stand, only to dropkick her backwards into the ropes. Trish gives Victoria various lefts and rights before running the champion off of them. Victoria reverses the whip, throwing Trish into the ropes, only to get a knee to the spine from Christy on the apron. Victoria connected with a picture perfect neckbreaker covering for only a close two count. Victoria applies a chin lock, resting it for several moments, twisted Stratus' head to the left, trying to tip it upside down. Victoria releases the hold and connects with a dropkick to the upper back before connecting with a leg drop. Victoria hooks both legs but only nears with a two count. Victoria goes for a sleeper but Trish jumps up and slams down again with a stun gun! Trish steadys herself on her knees, using the middle rope to get to her feet. Stratus sees Victoria as she comes from behind and reverses a waistlock from the champion into a waistlock take down, Trish spins around on Victoria's back, her legs dangling down over the Womens champion, on all fours. Victoria backdrops her but Trish rolls Victoria up with a sunset flip for a near fall. Trish dives backwards and tags in Mickie James as Victoria looks blankly at her across the ring before walking backwards as Mickie closed it. Meanwhile, Lita and Trish rush around the ringside area and drag Christy Hemme and Candice Michelle down, as the four illegal women trade blows on the outside.
Mickie yells Victoria to bring it as she nods and they collide with a lock up. Mickie gets trapped in a headlock but Mickie slides backwards and escapes the headlock. Mickie rolls Victoria up but only manages to somehow get a near fall. Mickie gets greeted with a forearm to the head by Victoria, who then slams her forearm into Mickie's back. Victoria sets up for a powerbomb but Mickie rolls backwards with a successful hurricanrana. Mickie hooks the legs from behind but only manages to get a near fall as Victoria turns it into a sunset flip. Mickie rolls backwards onto her feet before bouncing off the ropes and hitting a dropkick to the chest of the seated Victoria. Mickie sets up for the Mickie DDT, but Christy gets back on the apron and shoves her forward. Victoria flips James over, into a crucifix like choke hold, Mickie's arms positioned in an 'X' shape. Victoria lifts James over and plants her with the facebuster. The Crucifix Facebuster is successful as Victoria desperately hooks the legs and this match is over with.
The theme of the Devil's Angels play once again into the arena as Victoria sits up. The official hands her the Womens Championship and raises her arm, as he does with Candice and Christy as they also enter the ring. Victoria gets onto her knees and onto her feet as Christy and Candice hug her and raise their arms in unison with each other as the crowd boo loudly. The announcer gives the victory to the Devil's Angels as they walk up the aisle, sexual joke from Vince McMahon and all.
Here is your winners, The Devil's Angels

XI: World Tag Team Championship: Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin (c) vs. Adrenaline Rush[/size][/color]
The run-up to this World Tag Team Championship match, all began back at Backlash when the young lions, Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin sneaked out of the pay-per-view with the World Tag titles, getting a serious upset over Jeff and Matt, the Hardy Boyz. The team stayed strong through the RAW is WAR: Championship Edition in turmoil, mowing down the Samoans, the Nation and the Hardy Boyz. But on RAW is WAR three weeks ago, it was James Gibson and Ultimo Dragon who pinned Haas and Benjamin’s shoulders to the mat for a simultaneous three count during a non-title contest. In the weeks running up to this spectacular, James Gibson and Ultimo Dragon both also defeated Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin in singles action. But on RAW is WAR, the Saturday Night’s Main Event before the big show, Ultimo Dragon twisted his ankle following an asai moonsault straight onto his feet. He chose to stay reliable and despite his injury is still competing in this match.
The lights dim and flicker between yellow and gold, the spotlight shining down upon the entrance minitron. Seconds later, the World Tag Team Champions slowly walk out to the arena, clad in their blue and white matching tight shorts, both men with jackets with hoods on to match. They both look at the ground with their hoods up, they slap their own hands in unison and jog on the spot, before lifting their head up and pulling the hoods down. They walk down the aisle with a vengeance as fans boo and chant ‘you got beaten’. Haas and Benjamin pull the zips down on their jackets, dropping them on the floor. Benjamin runs and jumps onto the apron as Haas jogs up the ring steps. The two stand by each other on the apron, both hands raised with fisted hands in the air. They enter the ring and await their competition.[/center]
